I’m too “yum” to die

With all the anticlimactic  joy that is destined to spill out over the enclosing sides of this jubilee weekend, like the sham sweet butter cream filling of a red white and blue special edition victoria sponge on to your paper plate, I though it only right to mark this Friday with another delectable delight from our old friend Don Hertzfeldt. We have all found beauty in a record, and at times coveted thy neighbour’s vinyl sat silently in a record box for the promise of the lifeblood that flows within its groves. But Danish designer Michael Hansen has created elegance on an EP with these specially printed double-sided vinyl for a two-track recording by modern classical composer Allan Gravgaard Madsen.

The images on the record itself create the animations when played on a turntable and lit with a strobe light at 50 to 60 Hz. Very rarely can I watch a silent video and be moved so much by its beauty. Simplicity from a complex equation
